The Tip is 'Ask manufacturers' Some times I have run across an advertisement that implied a product was Made in USA but the product did not have the Made in USA label. Before I buy or put the product on my Made in USA list, I email the manufacturer and ask if their product is Made in USA. If they say yes I ask why their product is not labeled that way. Seldom will they tell me why but many times they will tell me every component that is Made in the USA and those that are not. I then make my decision about buying their product and put it on my list if they convince me. Our nylon flags feature SolarMax nylon by DuPont which is tough, durable and long lasting. SolarMax fabrics exhibit tremendous strength retention under UV exposure and are highly resistant to UV fading. A nylon flag will fly in the slightest breeze.It also makes an exceptional indoor flag. What is Polyester Flag Fabric? A 2-ply polyester blend fabric is extremely strong and durable. Our polyester fabric is called PolyMax. This flag fabric resembles cotton in appearance because it is woven. Because the fabric is heavier than nylon, it requires more wind to fly than our nylon flags. It perfect for windy conditions or for a flag that is flown 24/7. It is resistant to most chemicals as well as mildew and abrasion resistant. PolyMax flags are the most durable flags available in today's marketplace. What is Cotton Flag Fabric? Our cotton flags are manufactured from traditional heavyweight 2x2 ply mercerized cotton. The extra rugged weave actually exceeds U.S.Government specifications. Often cotton flags are used for indoor display, special keepsake flag and burial flags. Cotton flags are not recommended for outdoor use. What is a Sewn Flag? Each stripe is sewn separately. Stars will be embroidered or appliqued. The product description will indicate if a flag is sewn. What is Aniline-Dyed Flag? This process is used on our Military and State and other flags with complex designs. The process duplicates designs with accuracy in brilliant, fast colors. What is a Pole Hem? This is a hem on the left or hoist side of the flag that a pole can pass through. Pole hems are useful for indoor ceremonial flag sets, parades and outdoor decorative poles. A tab is sewn into the sleeve of the flag. This tab is attached to your flag pole hardware to keep the flag from sliding down on the pole. What is the Fly End? This is the side of the flag opposite the header and grommets. Generally this is the end of the flag that is free and gets snapped in the wind. Are all of your products Made in the USA? ALL of our flags are Made in the USA. Other products may not be made in the USA. If an item is NOT made in the US, this information is usually posted in the item description. If you purchase an item that has multiple components such as an indoor flag set. There may be some components that are not American made. If you have questions concerning a specific item, please contact us. Solid Brass Grommets allow for your flag to be fastened to the flagpole with flag snaps or straps. A 3'x5' flag has two grommets. The number of grommets per flag are based on flag size. Grommets are placed in the flag Header. The header is made from a bright white cotton polyester blend. This photo shows a grommet placed in a header. The size of the header changes based on the size of flag. On a 3'x5' flag, the header is 1 1/2. Embroidered Stars (shown on the left) are machine stitched directly onto the flag fabric. Appliqued Stars (shown on the right) are separate stars made from nylon that are added to the flag fabric and machine stitched into place. Metal Thimbles are included along with grommets on all flags 8'x12' and larger. Nylon rope is sewn into the strong canvas header with galvanized metal thimbles on the ends. Flag Stitching: Seams are double-stitched and fly ends have either 2, 4, 6 or 8 rows of double-stitching depending upon flag size.
