For a product produced in the U.S. to be labeled Made in USA, or claimed to be of domestic origin without qualifications or limits on the claim, the product must be all or virtually all made in the U.S.

All or virtually all means that all significant parts and processing that go into the product must be of U.S. origin. That means the product should contain no or negligible foreign content.

Therefore, for job creation purposes, those products labeled Made in USA cause the greatest number of American jobs to be created. This is true because the labor to produce the product and the raw materials that go into the product are all made with American labor.

oey was an adorable lab/pointer mix puppy rescued from the humane society. He was a master at using his sad brown eyes and slobbery kisses to get anything he wanted. Joey was so persuasive, his human parents, Shelley Gunton and her husband Brian Connolly, started a pet food business just to keep him satisfied and healthy. (Like we said, this dog was good!)

That was 20 years ago.

WE ASSEMBLED A TEAM OF EXPERTS

We assembled a team of experts in animal nutrition, organic and natural ingredients, processing, packaging, distribution, veterinary medicine, and technology. IN 2012 CASTOR POLLUX JOINED MERRICK PET CARE, INC.

In 2012, Castor & Pollux was acquired by Merrick Pet Care, Inc. to further expand its pioneering efforts in natural and organic pet food. In addition to its own successful line of food and treats for pets, Merrick is the only U.S. manufacturer certified to make both dry and canned organic food for pets. During the spring of 2013, Castor & Pollux introduced 24 indulgent recipes for dogs and cats. The lineup now includes a new ORGANIX dry food for dogs, recipes for large breeds, five new ORGANIX Butcher & Buschel canned food for dog recipes, plus and array of appetizing new recipes for dogs and cats of all sizes and life stages.
