The Tip is 'Where They're Proud' I recently saw an ad in our local newspaper for a big box home improvement store. Their newspaper ad had USA made products and American flags all over it. Several weeks later, I checked the ad again and sure enough they were still advertising their American made products. It was obvious they are proud to carry products Made in America. Their competitors made no mention of things Made in America. I have been to this store and asked what products are made in the USA? A clerk told me they primarily carry imports. Obviously they are not proud. I now realize you can buy many Made in the USA building supplies, including tools Made in USA and appliances Made in USA., in stores that are proud to carry brands Made in the USA. Here is another example of a store proudly carrying products Made in the USA. I was shopping for men's shoes in a local department store when I tried on three different pairs of shoes. I couldn't decide which pair I wanted so I went out on a limb and asked the clerk, "Are these shoes imports?" The salesman said "yes they are" so I asked, "Do you have any Made in America shoes like these?". To my surprise he said, with GREAT PRIDE, "yes sir, we have a whole line of Made In USA shoes". He brought me the same color and style with the Made in USA label. These Made in America shoes were less expensive, came with a better warranty, and were more comfortable. Looking for companies that are PROUD is simple and can have a great impact on our country. I encourage you to try this some time- just ask. You will love it when you realize you are making a difference that all of us will benefit from. With your help America will be ours again and that is a good thing. Buying Tip Continued - Read more on Made in America Products by Domestic Home Furnishings When Lloyd Walters first began selling furniture, he did so off the back of his truck at flea markets throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. American Craftsmanship and Quality have always been the primary ideas that drive Lloyd Walters and he has always strived to provide these qualities in the furniture and home goods he offers. Unhappy with the quality of furniture that his suppliers were providing him at the time and dismayed with the fact that the solid oak furniture they were producing was largely particle board with veneers or inferior soft woods, Lloyd decided he could do better himself. With a resolve to provide solid wood furniture that meets his standards of quality, Lloyd rented time in a small woodworking shop in Binghamton, New York. There he began hand-crafting dining room tables from solid oak, that is: real Northern grown solid oak and never particle boards or faux veneers. With that first solid oak table, Oak Street USA was born. Over time, Lloyd outgrew the back of his truck and opened a destination showroom in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania. He expanded his offerings to the entire home and hired a local craftsmen from the Lehigh Valley to staff his new manufacturing shop in Allentown, Pennsylvania to support the showroom. As the taste of homeowners has changed, so did Oak Street USA. To meet the demands of the modern homeowners' tastes, Lloyd added solid cheery and solid maple woods to his furniture offerings. In order to compliment this expanded selection of wood, Oak Street USA became Domestic Home Furnishings. From a small beginning, Domestic Home Furnishings has grown into one of the few remaining furniture manufacturers that still manufactures its products of solid wood, in the United States, by Americans. Today, Domestic Home Furnishings quality, solid wood furniture can be found in homes and fine vacations spots throughout the United States. Currently, Lloyd shows interested persons his furniture at his factory store in Allentown and is also glad to speak to you on the phone and in your home. |
