A retired chaplain (LTC) in the US Army Reserve, he has 25 years of combined military service. He was in active duty in the United States Air Force for 6 1/2 years, during which time he was stationed at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, MT. He was also with the 25th Infantry Division in Honolulu, HI. While enlisted in the military, Doug earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He also earned a Master of Divinity degree at Liberty Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA. In 1984, Doug accepted a pastoral position at a church in Sulphur Springs, TX. In an effort to support his family, Doug began working for a custom shutter company and learned the trade over the next several years. In 1989, Doug and his family moved back to Dallas and opened a retail shutter sales operation. After successfully building the company, Doug decided to pursue the world of manufacturing.
