The Tip is 'Don't procrastinate' For years I've been buying ink jet cartridges from a big box office supply store. These cartridges were made overseas and labeled with the well-known brand of a large American printer company. One I remembered a local store that advertised quality cartridges. I had traveled by this local store hundreds of times but never stopped. This time I stopped at the local store. To my surprise I discovered that they carried the cartridge I needed and it was a Made in USA cartridge. Made in Chicago, to be precise, and it was half the price of the imported ones I had been buying for years. The quality is exceptional and they last longer too. Who knew? After that experience, I make a point to stop at every store I can. By doing so, I've been finding more and more Made in America products. Occasionally the clerks don't know the country of origin; this can be discouraging but finding the origin information yourself isn't difficult I've come to realize. Believe it not, there are actually a number of computers made in the US including laptops made in the USA. When the label is not visibly displayed I use the other Made in America buying tips to help me find Made in US. If the store doesn't carry what you are looking for, use Made in America Secrets to find it and tell the manager about your experience at their store. If enough people are asking for Made in America products stores will begin to carry them. Buying Tip Continued - Read more on Made in America Products by No Feathers Please Hello and welcome to NoFeathersPlease.com! As a flight attendant I've spent years sleeping on questionable (to put it mildly) bedding in some dusty hotel rooms. Since I have allergies, I especially wanted a healthy bedroom at home as free from irritants and dust mites as I could find. So I began a long search for bedding that was not only free of down and feathers but also hypoallergenic, chemical and pesticide free. That turned out to be much more challenging and difficult than I thought. As I've learned, there are lots of sort of organic bedding lines out there and many are not completely or truly organic, not all natural fibers (like cotton or wool), not chemical and pesticide free, or they had those darn feathers and down in them. Often they came from places that did not always practice and maintain healthy or environmentally sound growing, harvesting or manufacturing standards. It's taken some time, but I've found several wonderful, all natural, truly organic, safe and pure lines of amazing bedding and launched NoFeathersPlease.com in 2006. Not only are these lines of bedding certified organic, but manufactured to the highest standards of testing and safety available today. Most of the products are made right here in the USA from US components. So sleep better and feel doubly good about your organic bedding purchase. Not only are you purchasing amazing bedding, but each month proceeds from sales by our customers are donated to our local Project Wildlife chapter and Green America's Sustainability Circle. I love these great organic bedding products and think you will too! Thank you for purchasing from NoFeathersPlease.com, helping us give and for supporting organic living standards and USA made products! |
