The Tip is 'City Magazines' I was in the magazine section recently and saw the Indianapolis Monthly. The cover title read "Made In Indiana." I read the article and was amazed that all sorts of things were being made in the state. This is contrary to what most American's believe. Most of us think everything is made overseas. We still make the majority of what we consume and our buying tips we call Little Secrets help you realize that. Being from Indiana, I decided to visit several of the referenced web sites and I am proud to say I have purchased some of the best products ever. All thanks to the "City Monthly Magazine". Buying Tip Continued - Read more on Made in America Products by Barrett Alley Each Barrett Alley product begins with the selection of natural materials such as leather, cotton, linen, bone, glass, and vintage metals. We use US and Australian vegetable tanned leather and source limited supplies of antique fabrics from around the world for linings. Antique American bone buttons serve as our fasteners, and our waxed linen thread comes from Ireland. Dying Vegetable Tanned Kangaroo Leather Dying The vegetable tanned kangaroo leather in our Roo Collection is dyed in-house using all natural dyestuffs like Beeswax, Turmeric, Annatto and Walnut. Over time these natural dyes will fade and the leather will darken, creating a patina unique to each owner. These natural dyes are not colorfast, nor are they intended to be. Be mindful of crocking. Trimming the Devilish Wallet Cutting All Barrett Alley products are cut from vegetable tanned leathers and antique fabrics in limited supply, making each item unique. Our leather is cut by hand with a knife and pieces are trimmed to fit together perfectly. Our selection of natural textile linings are matched carefully to each leather product to provide the perfect classic accent. |
