The Tip is 'Keep eyes open' After reading an article about items made in America I thought about how many times I make purchases without thinking. I'm usually focused on budget and needs. Prior to reading this article on made in the USA products, I rarely thought about the importance of buying made in USA products. This helps create jobs in our country. Now I keep my eyes open and I am surprised how easy it is to find American products. It only takes a few seconds to look. Now I make a point when I am shopping to search for made in America brands. By doing so, I'm able to identify more and more what products are made in America. Even with my eyes open to made in USA I can get discouraged. Sometimes store clerks don't know the country of origin which can be frustrating. If this happens use your eyes to find the origin information yourself. Look at the labels and when you find a Made in USA product tell the clerk so the next time they are asked they will know. Also, when the label is not easily seen I use the other made in America buying tips to help me find made in USA. If the store doesn't carry what you are looking for, use Made in America Secrets to find it and tell the manager about your experience at their store. When enough people are asking for made in the USA products, more stores will begin to carry products that are made here. This technique does work. I also pick and choose the stores I visit. I do this because I have found that some stores are made in America friendly while others are not. Keep your eyes open for the made in USA label and pretty soon you will be able to identify which products are made in the USA. Buying Tip Continued - Read more on Made in America Products by Johnny Loves June Our company was founded just a few short years ago. Donna Schons (Designer & Owner) had been in the wholesale gift business for around 10 years, after finding by happenstance her creative talents as a designer and graphic artist in her mid 40's. In 2008 when the recession took a tremendous hit on most businesses, Donna scaled back her business, took a couple years off to find her true passion, and came upon a critical fork in the road near Kerrville, Texas (in the Texas Hill Country). After many hurdles in her life, she found herself asking God for guidance, best described by the lyrics of the song Jesus take the wheel by Carrie Underwood. Then while listening to an old Johnny Cash song, in that instant, a vision of a true country love story between Johnny Cash and June Carter came to mind, and the name Johnny Loves June was born. All became clear from that point on. She dedicated her talents to designing a fresh new look jewelry line, which has become her passion. Not long after, Donna met Mark who would become her best friend, confidant, husband, business partner and the Johnny to her June. In just 2 short years, our company has taken off and is now carried in over 300 boutiques nationwide. We proudly make everything in the USA, and our studio is located in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Johnny Loves June jewelry can be described as a crossover between Bohemian, Gypsy, Western, Native American Indian, and Religious influences. Our style is best categorized as earthy, casual jewelry for everyday wear. Because of our firm belief in God's grace, many of our pieces have religious influences. And we truly have been BLESSED!!! On a side note, with all of God's graces, it has also been revealed to Donna her calling to share her struggles and message of hope to so many other women that also have been through similar life experiences and are at their own crossroads. We aim to share that love, one jewelry piece at a time. Donna's mantra is Let what you love, Be what you do |
