The Tip is 'Where They're Proud' I recently saw an ad in our local newspaper for a big box home improvement store. Their newspaper ad had USA made products and American flags all over it. Several weeks later, I checked the ad again and sure enough they were still advertising their American made products. It was obvious they are proud to carry products Made in America. Their competitors made no mention of things Made in America. I have been to this store and asked what products are made in the USA? A clerk told me they primarily carry imports. Obviously they are not proud. I now realize you can buy many Made in the USA building supplies, including tools Made in USA and appliances Made in USA., in stores that are proud to carry brands Made in the USA. Here is another example of a store proudly carrying products Made in the USA. I was shopping for men's shoes in a local department store when I tried on three different pairs of shoes. I couldn't decide which pair I wanted so I went out on a limb and asked the clerk, "Are these shoes imports?" The salesman said "yes they are" so I asked, "Do you have any Made in America shoes like these?". To my surprise he said, with GREAT PRIDE, "yes sir, we have a whole line of Made In USA shoes". He brought me the same color and style with the Made in USA label. These Made in America shoes were less expensive, came with a better warranty, and were more comfortable. Buying Tip Continued - Read more on Made in America Products by Nordic Ware An inspirational American success story, Nordic Ware was founded in 1946 by a determined wife, Dotty, and her resourceful husband Dave, newly back from the second world war. With only $500 in their pockets, a few good ideas and a desire to create a business of their own, a humble kitchenware company was launched from the basement of their home in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In the beginning, Nordic Ware's product line was only a handful of items, all of which were specialty Scandinavian ethnic cookware products?the Rosette iron, Krumkake iron, Platte Panne pan, and the Ebelskiver pan. But times have changed! Undoubtedly, Nordic Ware's most famous item is the Bundt? pan, which can be found in over 65 million households around the world. Despite a lackluster introduction into our line in the early 1950s, the Bundt? pan rose to worldwide fame when it was used to bake a prize-winning cake in a national baking contest, and the rest, as they say, is history. As the pan found its way into the hearts and homes of people everywhere, the Bundt? cake has become the quintessential American dessert--one that's become a tradition for countless gatherings and family celebrations. 68 years later with a good measure of perseverance added, Nordic Ware is still proudly manufacturing its products in Minneapolis. Those original Scandinavian products have been joined by hundreds of other items in Nordic Ware's product offering, ranging from bakeware and cookware to microwave products and grilling accessories. We've grown from 2 employees to over 350, and our products are distributed across the globe. We're proud to say that we're still family-owned and operated, with three generations involved in our business, and each year we add innovative items to our expansive kitchenware line. |
