The Tip is 'Ask family & friends' After reading the Big Secret I began to ask my family and friends about Made in USA products. It amazed me how many of them were already thinking about the subject. After asking the question all of us began to exchange useful information about where to buy Made in USA products. This was a huge help and now my entire family bring me containers with the Made in USA label on them. I record this information for us by Submitting our Secret to Made in America Secrets. Now we won't forget and next time we already know where to buy. Looking is now a family experience and our friends too are involved. Emily's story At an early age, I developed a strong love of nature. My parents are underwater photographers for National Geographic and I grew up traveling the world with them. I then went on to major in Environmental Studies at Oberlin College. I combined my passion for nature with my love of entertainment and created environmentally-themed performance art pieces and parties! But I couldn't find colorful and sustainable party tableware. That's when I met Jessica at a party. She joined as a co- owner, we launched our own product line, and the rest is history! Jessica's story I grew up in the suburbs of Washington, DC as a spunky kid who could beat all the boys in basketball. I ended up going to Harvard where I studied Economics and was captain of the Women's Basketball Team. After graduating in 2006, I had landed my dream job and moved to New York to work on Wall Street. Everything was great, but coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I eventually got the itch to start my own thing and I knew that I wanted it to have a positive impact on the world. That's when I ran into Emily at a party and knew that Susty was for me! |
