The Tip is 'Teach Grandchildren' One day, while I was on the Made In America Secrets site my granddaughter noticed and asked me what I was doing. I told her about the Big Secret and as I explained, she began to ask me more questions. After several minutes she left my office to play with her little sister. Months had gone by and until recently, I had forgotten about that moment. She was visiting again and I was talking to her about buying a custom printed T-Shirt. She immediately told me about a website that I could use to buy one. Wow I thought, she is only eight years old and already teaching me. The most amazing thing then happened, she said "Pops they sell Made In America T-Shirts". Thanks to her I purchased six custom Made In USA T-Shirts. Her name is Britton, she understands the Big Secret and I love it when she tells me her Little Secrets! Now she is ten and writing a screenplay called Mertastic. It is a story about a mermaid. Recently, she was visiting our house again and using my computer. She called me to come into my office and of course I came to her because that is what grandparents love to do. One of the reasons I love to be with her is because it is always interesting to see what she is up to. This time, she needed a mermaid tail for her movie, so we began to look around using Google. Her mother is a talented seamstress and will make the tail so we were looking for fabric that would be satisfy my granddaughter's vision of her mermaid tail. Once again we began to talk about Made in America and therefore started to investigate the country of origin of the fabrics she was considering. Because of that experience Made in USA fabric is now one of Made in America Secrets products. Thank you, Britton. Being green is part of every decision we make. To Choose Organic. Conventionally grown cotton (more that 99% of the world's cotton supply) has significant negative impacts on the environment and on human health, primarily due to toxic chemical use. As a result, consumers are exposed to them daily in the food they eat, the water they drink, the air and dust they breathe, as well as on surfaces inside their homes and at work, and in public places. Because organic cotton is grown without the use of harmful pesticides, chemicals, and fertilizers - supporting organic cotton is a great way to promote more sustainable and healthy environmental practices and preserve air and water quality. Organic farming is part of the solution to reduce reliance on potentially dangerous pesticides and fertilizers highly dependent on oil and natural gas for their production. Supporting organic farmers, no matter where they are on the planet, helps to take care of our water and soil resources. Made in the USA. Indiana to be specific. Our Story Hip Bag Several years ago, co-founder Janet Sharp-Freedman and her family were visiting Africa on a vacation. Prone to back trouble, Janet found it uncomfortable to carry a purse while exploring South Africa. The added weight on her shoulders made it difficult to carry her children or any additional items purchased along the way. One afternoon, while walking through a local market, Janet spotted a woman wearing a bag around her hips that was unlike anything she had seen before. It was more than a fanny pack, less than a backpack and left her hands completely free. While much more basic in design, Janet realized that a more fashionable, higher quality bag utilizing the same core concept could dramatically improve her life and others. Drawing on her background in biomechanics and kinesiology, Janet went home and designed a bag for herself and later for her friends with similar needs. Throughout the years, demand for this new, innovative bag was more than she ever anticipated and thus, Pax4u was born. |
