Hello & Welcome! I'm Teresa Schumacher and this is my wonderful husband Jeffrey and our adorable children, Christian, Joshua & baby Hannah. We are so thankful and blessed with our family and our soy candle business.

The funny thing is, we were not interested in building a soy candle business. That was never initially our interest. Our candle journey was ignited by our common passion for health and wellness.

Like many of you, my husband and I enjoyed relaxing in a scent-filled house whenever we lit candles. What we didn't enjoy was the black soot that would cover our candle jars and everything else in the vicinity. Concerned about what this black film was and what the health implications were for breathing it in, we began to do our research. What we learned was shocking.

We discovered that most candles are made from paraffin wax, a petroleum by-product generated when oil is refined into gasoline. A report from the Environmental Protection Agency stated that paraffin wax is harmful when burned?as dangerous as second-hand smoke?and contains 11 toxins, two that are considered above the excess cancer risk with multiple exposures.

We also learned that most commercially-made fragrances were almost as harmful as the paraffin wax because the fragrances were made with petroleum oil. Additionally, the metals used in wicks and other candle synthetic additives were unhealthy.

Fed Up With Candles, we MadeOur Own Extraordinarily Scented Soy Candles For Ourselves ...

To say the least, we were very frustrated with the candles that were currently on the market. Besides being unhealthy, they often had little or no aroma. The candle wax burned uneven, leaving a big hole down the center. Most often big chunks of wax were left on the side of the jar and the wicks often got buried in the wax.

We loved burning candles and were not ready to give up that pleasure, but we were also not going to put our health in jeopardy. We were convinced that there had to be a way to make a healthier candle.

Armed with this newly-found knowledge and a desire to still enjoy the stress-relieving benefits of burning candles?albeit in a healthy way!?we decided to create a new kind of candle for ourselves to enjoy.

We wanted to design candles that:
? Were made of all-natural soy wax. Soy wax has no harmful carcinogens, burns with no petro-carbon soot and lasts longer than paraffin wax.

? Burned evenly. No more hole in the middle of the candle with all the wax still on the sides!

? Smelled amazing top to bottom!

? Were long-lasting.

So, to make our family and yours healthier, we created Pure Integrity Soy Candles. One year later after giving candles out to friends and family the flame was ignited for a successful candle business.

What makes our soy candles so superior? We use an innovative fragrance technology that enables our soy wax to absorb an exceptional amount of scent. Our candles have 50% more than the current industry standard for scent saturation.

Our fragrances were developed specifically for us to be used in our unique soy wax formulation, as opposed to typical fragrances which are manufactured in petroleum oil.

To top it all off, we hand-pour each and every candle using a seven-step pouring process, creating strong, clean and even burning soy candles top to bottom. Yes, it's a lot of steps, but quality of the process matters!

The following is a reply from Pure Integrity Soy Candles to our question – "Are your products American Made?"

Thank you very much for your inquiry.  Not only are all of our candles made in the USA, but all of our raw materials that go into making our candle are also made in the USA.

 

I think I'm a lot like you, when given the choice I will most often choose the product made in the United States. One of the main reasons we buy our raw materials in the USA is because the quality is more consistent than overseas.

How do you know the products you have listed are Made in the USA?
Before including products in our database we review the advertiser’s website and/or contact them to ascertain the origin of their products. Some advertisers sell both Made in USA products and foreign ones. Therefore we highly recommend you review FAQ 2.

We immediately investigate any complaints regarding deceptive Country of Origin claims. If we determine an advertiser's claim is not truthful we will immediately remove the product/s from our database and suspend our relationship with the Company making the claim.

What does Made in USA mean?
There is no law requiring most products to be labeled Made In USA, or have any other disclosure about the amount of U.S. content. However, for job creation purposes (see our Big Secret tab), if you have a choice between an imported product and one with no country of origin on its label, choose the product without a country of origin over the imported one. This is true because the product without the country origin on its label has at least some American labor in its content and the imported one most likely does not.
