COMPANY MILESTONES

1969 We began as Thermwood Corporation....
Thermwood Corporation was established in 1969 as a plastic thermoformer of wood grained product for the furniture industry, hence the name Thermwood. Thermwood developed the first commercial CNC machine tool control, and used it to build machinery to trim their thermoformed plastic parts. They then began to sell this trim equipment, and developed a market for trimming equipment in the industry.

1981 Our Company was Founded....
In 1981 Thermwood made a corporate decision to become a total automated company. Our company was founded by the purchase of the Thermoforming and Sheet Extrusion assets of Thermwood Corporation. Our first year of production took place in the Thermwood plant while we were in the process of building our new facility next door. Our company began with 58 employees, and today we have many of those same experienced employees still working with us.

1982 Our first year of Production....
We moved into the new plant, a facility of 68,000 square feet.

1985 & 1986 We Expanded our Facilities...
We made our first two building expansions to meet the needs of our customers.

1988 Assembly Division Added, began Twin Sheeting, Achieved Small Business Award....
In 1987, we created the opportunity to become involved in the manufacture of video camera (camcorder) carrying cases. One year later this growth resulted in the creation of our Assembly Division and the acquisition of the former Dale Cabinet plant. We started production of our Twin Sheeting process. As a result of these successes our Company was selected as our area's Small Business of the Year for 1988.

1989 Indiana's Small Business of Year Award...
Our Company achieved the great honor of being named the state of Indiana's Small Business of the Year by the Small Business Administration.

1994 Expanded CNC Trimming...
We made our 3rd building addition to accommodate more CNC trimming capacity.

1998 Expanded Office & Warehouse...
We made major expansions to both our offices and warehouse.

1999 Opened R&D Center & more Expansions...
With the purchase of a metal fabrication facility located next door, we opened our R&D center. That same year we added another expansion to our warehouse and manufacturing areas.

2000 Engineering & Warehouse Expansion...
We added a second floor to our offices to house our growing engineering department. We then, again, added another warehouse expansion.

2002 Opened facility in El Paso...
By 2002, our single and twin-sheet projection TV back business had grown to the point that we opened a thermoforming facility in El Paso, TX to support our Mexico operation customers. Then, with the introduction of LCD and Plasma flat screen TV's, the projection industry started to become obsolete, and in 2005 we closed our El Paso location.

2003 Purchases for future expansions...
We purchased the neighboring Colonial Restaurant's building and land to allow future building expansions to our main facility. Also in 2003, we purchased from Kimball International, their Logistics Division which included 90,000 square feet and 109 acres located just across the street from our main facility.

2005 Additional Warehouse added...
Once again, we added another warehouse expansion to our headquarters.

2008 Purchased Facility in Hapmton, SC...
We purchased from T.O. Plastics, their Hampton, SC thermoforming location. We added more equiptment and are running multi-shift production.

Today with many expansions and three locations in Dale, Indiana, plus one in Hampton, South Carolina we have over 440,000 square feet to help support our customers' needs.

How do you know the products you have listed are Made in the USA?
Before including products in our database we review the advertiser’s website and/or contact them to ascertain the origin of their products. Some advertisers sell both Made in USA products and foreign ones. Therefore we highly recommend you review FAQ 2.

We immediately investigate any complaints regarding deceptive Country of Origin claims. If we determine an advertiser's claim is not truthful we will immediately remove the product/s from our database and suspend our relationship with the Company making the claim.

To document your complaint, email us by using our Contact Us page. We can only respond to complaints that have been submitted in writing.

What does Made in USA mean?
There is no law requiring most products to be labeled Made In USA, or have any other disclosure about the amount of U.S. content. However, for job creation purposes (see our Big Secret tab), if you have a choice between an imported product and one with no country of origin on its label, choose the product without a country of origin over the imported one. This is true because the product without the country origin on its label has at least some American labor in its content and the imported one most likely does not.

Note: Imported products are required by law to country of origin on their label and products partially Made In USA do not. To answer this question completely reviewing our Labeling Tips 1, 2 & 3. These tips are accessible from scrolling to the bottom of our home page clicking Browse All Tips button.
