I had always purchased a foreign made tennis shoe. However, after reading the Big Secret I changed. One day I needed a new pair and wondered if there were any tennis shoes Made In USA. Following in the sawdust of great luthiers, William Rees has been crafting instruments since 1972, from harps to electric guitars, to dulcimers to lutes and everything in between. A biologist by training, William appreciates the natural beauty and voices in woods and instruments while constantly seeking to understand both within a scientific methodology. During his earliest years of building instruments, he traveled to various music archives and libraries in an effort to understand what he could of luthiers who had gone before. Additionally, William imposed upon the gracious nature of of numerous established luthiers by traveling to their shops for lengthy visits. William is also an accomplished, award-winning multi-instrumentalist who has been teaching and playing professionally since 1970. His first-hand experience, having played for audiences numbering from 4 to 7,000, sets him apart in his understanding of the demands placed upon stringed instruments by professional musicians and discriminating audience members alike. The light of William's life is his sweet goldendoodle, Eleanor, who accompanies William to work everyday.
